upon beauty
i set my loftiest goals
high enough to to look down
and chirp like a cricket
to hide nightmares
in black ink
upon beauty
i crumbled
and cracked
and cried at night
until my tears
could fill
a glass of wine
and weave intoxication
from beauty
i ran
to the corners
of the earth
where no one
could understand
my laments
and drunk men
walked aimlessly
waist deep in headlights
with loose ties
and then i lost my mind
and grew claws
and hunted white rabbits
in the woods
and took Cupids stealthy bow
and broke it
then beauty
i entranced
with a quick tongue
filled to the brim
with wit
and danced
with winged feet
with her weight
upon beauty
i set up my eyes
in wonder
and waded
through thick words
crying freely
and cursing
my insinuations
upon beauty
i climbed
and dried my eyes
and spied the top
and stopped
to think it all over
and scream
from behind my eyes
